Every time I drop the soap in the shower…
I can’t help but think of Slippery Soap from Blue’s Clues!
What did you think I was going to say? Get your minds out of the gutter!
I seem to be dropping the soap more and more these days, probably because I am always rushing, it’s exhausting!
After taking a year off of going to college to deal with marital problems (which ended in a divorce in case you did not notice) the week of August 26th was my first week back. Somehow I forgot how crazy, crazy busy I was when I was in school and I have been neglecting my dear old blog terribly.
I also forgot that I cannot remember, nor can I grasp things the way I used to in high school, which means I have to work my ass off to get something in my brain and remember it. So on top of crazy busy, have been terribly frustrated with feeling stupid as dirt all of the time.
It is so frustrating watching these young genius people around me spew out crazy, intelligent answers, while I’m struggling to learn the basics. Am I getting dumber with age?!? I thought it was supposed to be the other way around! What is happening to me?!
With car troubles to the max, one day it was on fire (lol!), my stress levels have been through the roof!! I can’t help but laugh about it all though. Even though I am driving around the worlds grossest vehicle (in my humble opinion) I am still MUCH happier than when I was married and driving around a nice car.
I switched my major to Classics and now everyone says I am going for something useless, but I have found that there are so many, many positions out there that do not care if you have a degree in dancing – they just want to see a four year degree on your resume.
Plus, if I push through and go to dental school like I have always dreamed of doing, then at least I’ll have spent my time getting there doing something I love and am actually interested in VS Anthropology which is interesting, but never have I ever had so many teachers that were so obnoxiously self-important.
If I am able to get a job in the field I am studying, great! Word on the street is if you do what you love you never work a day in your life and who wouldn’t want that?
I find lately that it’s easier for me to live on less and be happy with what I have instead of wishing for things. I mean…sure, I want the nice car, the yacht and the closet of Lisa Vanderpump, but I can live happily without it all as long as I have my little Spot and pasta, of course.
If you did or are currently going to college, what is your major?
Do you wish you had done something different or do you love what you do?
